Lux here, with a selection of places doted across London. Make sure to add them to the 'must try' Resturant list we know you have tucked away in your phone notes waiting for a rainy day or a special occasion. Here's a collection of golden favourites & newbies - all with two things in common, incredible interiors and the food to match!
First up - Gold, Nottingham Hill
Head Chef Theo Hill (ex-River Cafe) and Are Akgundogdu (Soho House) bring contemporary European small plates & style to Nottingham Hill, replacing the Portobello Gold pub simply with Gold. The stunning space features an open kitchen, an inside-outside back terrace complete with retractable roof, stone & terracotta aesthetics and a striking facade from Portuguese artists Vhils.
Tip: beautiful for dinner & cool after dinner drinks, request to sit outside on your booking.
Sessions Arts Club, Clerkenwell
Sessions Arts Club is at Old Sessions House and occupies the upper levels and rooftop terrace of the Grade II listed former Magistrates' Court - beautifully restored, on Clerkenwell Green.
The impressive 18th Century building houses a restaurant, wine bar and gallery space. The project is managed by painter Jonny Gent, with Florence knight heading up the kitchen, offering a refined, seasonally led menu inspired by British, French and Italian cooking - carefully grown and sourced ingredients at its heart.
The 60 seater dining room is flooded with light from a series of magnificent arched windows looking out onto the rooftop - the rooftop terrace leads out to an elegant marble bar and infinity rooftop pool with unrivalled views over the city.
Tattu, Soho
Tattu was founded in Manchester back in 2015 by brothers Andrew and Drew Jones. Following the success of its existing locations in Leeds, Birmingham and Edinburgh and the original Tattu in Manchester.
Tattu London brings contemporary Chinese, striking design and sunset views to the City. Expect a soft background of house music, a menu of elevated and inventive dishes and a nod of thanks to the beautiful wrap around glass to ceiling windows. Go for Lunch, brunch, dinner, cocktails! The lot.
Sucre, Soho
Bueno Aires comes to London with Chef Fernando Trocca, in the form of the incredible Sucre in Soho.
Taking over the ground floor of the former home of the London College of Music, the restaurant is in what was the concert hall, championing open-fire cooking and Latin American influence.
The Resturant is stunning, occupying a large, high ceilinged tape, complete with open kitchen, gleaming glass chandeliers and aesthetics paying tribute to the buildings heritage.
Tip: definitely a vibe for dinner (don't go for lunch) and the best evenings are Friday and Saturday nights. Head downstairs after dinner for a drink at Alma.
Amazonico, Mayfair
The original Amazonico Madrid is a luxurious Spanish hotspot (think Park Chinois, Coya vibes) famed for its celebrity & socialite clientele, stunning rainforest aesthetics and tropical culinary experience, all of which have been bought to London's Mayfair scene.
Amazonico is a five room experience with five star wow factor. Co-founder and Chef Sandro Silva serves a Latin-American inspired menu reflective of a 'journey down the Amazon river through Brazil, Colombia & Peru bringing rich culinary heritage of the region alive with food.'
The bar & lounge area is adorned with model peacocks while a resident DJ plays 'electropical' music. In the main dining room, a live Cuban Jazz band performs every night. Diners can also choose to eat at the counter top sushi bar as well as book a private dining room for up to 20 people - must try.
NoMad Resturant at the NoMad, Covent Garden
The central Resturant and cocktail bar is set inside a beautifully landscaped atrium with a soaring glass ceiling, flooded with natural light providing energy and liveliness during the day. In the evening, the space transforms into an intimate, romantic and stunning setting for dinner.
The menu is absolutely delicious and the service is impeccable.
Tip: have a cocktail at the beautiful, pink tasselled, Atrium bar before dinner.
